We really like this place and have been coming to Lope, for a long time. This visit I had the Ruben's tortilla soup and 2 shredded chicken tacos. I think the tortilla soup is the best I have eaten and chicken tacos were very good. My wife had the Chili Rellano(not sure about the spelling) and it was delicious. We would come here more often if it wasn't for the traffic on US 59

Very busy - yummy food. I got the enchiladas but wished I would have picked the chile relano (sp?). That seemed to be one of their most ordered dishes and looked great.
The queso was just ok.
Overall, it was good but not great.
We hadn’t been here since it opened. Tonight we had beef fajita burritos and beef fajitas for one. The fajitas were great - thick cut, hot-but not sizzling. The same for the burrito meat, however, the cheese on the burrito had a bitter taste (next time I’ll ask for queso on top). So I ate the inside, which was very good. The place was clean and restrooms were clean.
The restaurant was packed. We had to ask for napkins and utensils several times. The wait staff was cordial even in this demanding environment. The adult beverage was on par. I think we’ll be back soon.
The place has changed in the 15 years since I last went but the food is still the same. Excellent full of flavor and seasoned just right. The staff is all new and not as friendly as before, but as stated I've not been in 15 years.
THE BEST TEX MEX in Houston, and maybe further out I’m sure … it’s so good always FRESH produce.. real real tortillas .. very very attentive wait staff. Let it be 10 seconds and you look around they are there with refills and chip and sauce refill.. ? Very reasonable prices for a good amount of food. Can’t beat the food or the prices nor the service. Thank you #LOPEZ
